The interior ministry has already placed their names on the Exit Control List.
The mob attempted to break the doors to the apartment of Sharif and his son, Hussain Nawaz.
Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz will be arrested on their arrival at any airport in Pakistan as they have been convicted in a corruption case, a senior minister said on Monday. Sharif's 44-year-old daughter and co-accused Maryam was given seven years for abetment, and one year for non-cooperation with the NAB - also to run concurrently.
The father-daughter duo, now in London with Sharif's ailing wife Kulsoom Nawaz, is expected to return to Pakistan on Friday. "We will make sure that Sharif and Maryam do not leave the airport and are arrested there", he said.
On account of serious differences among the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior leaders in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the party leadership was not hopeful that party members and public would turn up in significant numbers at the Islamabad International Airport on Friday to welcome Sharif and his daughter, which is why the venue was changed to Lahore, it is learnt from well-placed party sources.
Sharif's son-in-law Captain (retired) Mohammad Safdar was also handed out a one year prison term.
No arrests have been made as yet, they said, adding that legal action will be initiated over the destruction to private property. Abbasi told the media, "The court has sentenced Sharif to 10 years of imprisonment and fined him 8 million pounds".
As some of them gained access to the apartment, one protester threw a shopping cart at Aijaz Gul, a member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) United Kingdom unit. Meanwhile, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurenzeb said Sharif and Maryam will arrive in Lahore on Friday via Abu Dhabi on a foreign airline.
