Lemon also asked James if he would ever consider running for the presidency, to which James replied, "Let's see first".
James said he "can't sit back and say nothing".
The President was watching.
It seems like our Commander-in-Chief has enough free time to start yet another feud on social media and this time, his target is none other than National Basketball Association star LeBron James but also CNN journalist Don Lemon who recently interviewed him.
Jordan expressed his support for James on Saturday.
In January, as news broke about the President's alleged dalliance with porn star Stormy Daniels something which he denies, Melania Trump broke with tradition and took a separate motorcade to the President's State of the Union address on Capitol Hill instead of riding with him.
It took the Tweeter-in-Chief nearly a full week to respond.
The tweet from CNN PR alluded to Trump's insistence that he does not watch Lemon's show - or even CNN.
CNN's Lemon and Don Rather have since responded to the inflammatory remarks by Trump, Rather calling the president a disgrace and Lemon questioning who the "real dummy" is.
The school had no immediate comment on Saturday.
But despite hostility between Donald and LeBron, it appears that Melania has taken the high road, choosing to stay out of the unfolding drama.
Trump is famous for his counter-punching.
In 2013, Mr Trump tweeted: "Lebron is a great player and a great guy!" Those tweets were back in 2013 and 2015.
So it looks like it's Twitter 1, Trump 0 for this one. He evidently wanted all TV sets tuned to Fox News.
So here is the interview, followed by Trump's tweet and the responses to it.
"Sounds like @FLOTUS had the remote last night", it wrote. "We hope you both saw the incredible work of @KingJames".
President Donald Trump speaks during a rally, August 4, 2018, in Lewis Center, Ohio. It's just a pointless, aimless ad hominem attack and, as many pointed out on social media, a thinly veiled racist remark.
James, one of the most prominent athletes in the USA, has been critical of Trump for years. It said: "I support LeBron James. He's doing an incredible job for his community", said Jordan, according to CNN.
