As per the India Standard Time (IST), Xiaomi Mi A2 is scheduled to be launched by 4pm today and you can catch all the action live with the Facebook live streaming of the product launch. The Mi A2 camera also features an AI portrait mode and smart lens which click images based on different lighting conditions. According to the listing on the Amazon app, the Xiaomi Mi A2 will be priced at Rs.17,499 in India. The very popular budget Xiaomi smartphone has been amongst the top selling smartphones across price brackets, both globally and in India, since its launch in China in October past year. In the camera department, it has a 12MP + 8MP dual camera setup with OIS on the rear and a 8MP front camera. Redmi Note 5 Pro and Honor Play have the same storage configurations of 4GB RAM plus 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM plus 64GB storage. Honor Play has a bigger 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM. However, looking at the worldwide pricing of the phone which was announced to be Euro 279 (about Rs 22,500) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and Euro 349 (about Rs 28,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option, it can be said that the phone will sell around the same price point only.
The pre-order for the Xiaomi Mi A2 will commence on Amazon from the 9th of August 2018 (12:00) PM and the smartphone will be available in flash sale from 12th of August 2018 (12:00 PM) on Amazon, Mi.com, and Mi Home. However, it seems Xiaomi will undercut that estimate by a substantial margin.
For connectivity, the phone comes with the latest Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C for data syncing and charging, IR blaster and other basic connectivity features. Doing away with the screen notch, the phone has an 8MP selfie camera module that pops out on top. The battery on the device is a 3010mAh one which comes with the Quick Charge 4 technology for fast-charging support in India.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is an Amazon exclusive smartphone. As the name suggests, it's the successor to Xiaomi's highly praised stock Android running device. That's because it runs Android Oreo based Android One platform.
