The letter claims publication of the book amounts to tortious interference with Manigault Newman's nondisclosure agreement with the Trump Organization, according to the Hollywood Reporter, which obtained a copy. Discussions abound on whether the accusation by former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman that Trump uttered the racial slur is true. This writes the Agency Voice of America.
That had the "Late Show" host wondering just how Lara Trump, wife of Eric Trump and a senior adviser to the campaign, got involved in the first place. "Now that she says bad about me, they will talk to her. Fake News!"
"This is clearly similar to what you have in your back pocket is something that need to be extracted". In a press release he said: "Omarosa has proven herself time and time again not to be trustworthy from the day she was sacked from the Clinton administration, to when she was sacked from (NBC's "The Apprentice") and ... her firing from the Trump administration".
Manigault Newman interjects quickly, "Oh, God no".
These surreptitious phone recordings come on the heels of a bombshell book, Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House, released this past week.
Trump Organization accuses Omarosa's book...
Earlier Manigault-Newman was one of the most famous lawyers of the trump among the African Americans.
But she was deeply disliked by many of her colleagues and eventually was ousted by Trump's chief of staff, John Kelly, for "significant integrity issues".
"Trust me, I'd love to [talk]", Patton said.
In the MSNBC interview, she also hinted she has more tapes and she will make them public "when the time comes".
She now says he "used" her, calling him a "con" who "has been masquerading as someone who is actually open to engaging with diverse communities" but is "truly a racist". The publisher said it is "proceeding as planned with publication of (Omarosa's book), confident that we are acting well within our rights and responsibilities as a publisher", said the statement sent to USA TODAY.
NBC reports that Manigault Newman says the newest recording was made on December 16, 2017, a few days after her leaving the White House. She has already appeared on several cable news shows to play audio clips confirming portions of her tell-all tome.
