"To me, Gov. Brown is a climate hero", said Todd Stern, the head U.S. climate negotiator in Paris.

"We're gonna launch our own satellite.to figure out where the pollution is and where we're going to end it", the governor said.

"With Governor Brown's order, California establishes the most ambitious carbon neutrality commitment of any major economic jurisdiction in the world - of more than 20 countries and at least 40 cities, states, and provinces planning to go carbon neutral by mid-century or sooner", explained the Governor's office in a press release.
"You don't snap your fingers and say now it's done", Brown said. These people continue to push for a low-carbon economy even after Trump pulled the United States out of the Paris climate accord on June 1, 2017, and later scrapped Barack Obama-era coal emission standards.
Trump said the worldwide agreement was unfair to the United States and would hurt the economy.
'Brown had tough words for Trump, who yanked the USA out of the landmark Paris Agreement and is trying to rescind California's right to set its own vehicle emissions standard.
Kerry's criticism of Trump came a day after the president blasted Kerry on Twitter for meeting with high-level members of the Iranian government.
Gore, a Democrat, also criticized Trump's recent denial that 3,000 people died in Puerto Rico in 2017 because of Hurricane Maria.
James Brainard, Republican mayor of Carmel, Indiana, listed a number of Republican presidents and their environmental accomplishments, including President Nixon's creation of the Environmental Protection Agency.
A partnership between China and the United States paved the way for the Paris agreement under President Obama. Promises were made to green ports, protect forests, and invest in battery storage for renewable power. As such, NAZCA will continue to play a key role in providing visibility and tracking the diversity of climate action and mobilizing broader engagement to help countries achieve and exceed their national commitments.
"I know President Trump is trying to get out of the Paris Agreement, but he doesn't speak for the rest of America", Brown said in a video announcing the summit.
