The Fortnite Switch Bundle contains a neon red and blue Switch, with no Fortnite specific designs on the dock or the console. It also backpedaled from a previous claim that user data would be deleted upon account closure.
After the launch, you'll also be able to buy Nintendo's wireless NES controllers for playing the retro style games. Gold points can't be used for auto-renewal though, so you'll need to do not forget to keep re-purchasing. "They can not be used for auto-renewal". The number of points received is one percent of the price of the game in the eShop. It does eventually add up, allowing you to turn the coins around for purchases in the eShop.
You earn points on most Switch, 3DS and Wii U game purchases, but the system is heavily skewed toward digital games. You can find the full list on Nintendo's NES web page.
Cloud saves also aren't guaranteed to be backed up if you lapse as a member - though it'll still be on your Switch console's internal memory as long as it's functional.
It now reads, "We are unable to guarantee that cloud save data will be retained after an extended period of time from when your membership is ended". As it is right now, there is no way to back up your saves to an external drive or even an SD card. You'll be able to use these games for seven days offline before your Switch requires you to "check in" online and make sure you're still a subscriber. While we have nothing additional to announce on this topic, please be assured that we listen carefully to the feedback from our customers.
This will be the first time Nintendo has charged for an online membership service to get the most out of your games, bringing it in line with its competitors and the likes of PlayStations Plus and Xbox Live Gold.
