Klopp praised the contribution of Daniel Sturridge, who marked his first Champions League start for Liverpool with the opening goal, and admitted it was a close call on Firmino's involvement following the eye injury. Liverpool did have another shout for a goal when Mohamed Salah got a tap in on the goal line which was called back due to a foul on Sturridge to Alphonse Areola's groin.
After the Liverpool game, Warnock said: "When you get Daniel fit and firing, you can not ignore him".
"I think it's a big result honestly", Mane said.
Neymar tried to help the team.
The midfielder joined Bury on loan in the summer from Rangers in a bid to try and secure regular first team football at an important stage in his career. "The squad is so strong as a unit".
"With Bobby obviously struggling, Studge (Sturridge) comes in and scores for us".
Four months after the five-time European champions lost last season's final to Real Madrid, Liverpool showed its credentials to challenge for the title again by finding a way to tame Neymar and Mbappe for much of the game. "We tweaked a few things to control situations better and we created chances, but at this level, it wasn't enough".
"We changed the system because we expected a change from them". We know the players they've got and it's probably the only time they've really opened us up. No game is easy.
"We will look forward to playing in all competitions and hopefully we can compete on all fronts and we will see where it takes us", he said.
"We just kept on going and found a second wind going into the last 10 minutes, the chances kept on coming and Bobby's finish was great".
