Who knows? Maybe cross-play across the three consoles with Diablo III will happen sooner rather than later.
The items include a poster and a men's and women's T-shirt, all showing the frightful visage of the series namesake himself. Blizzard is known for teases-its Twitter advert shows four Diablo shotglasses which hint at Diablo IV-so it could go either way.
If anything, the Reign of Terror leak is more addressing a new line of Diablo merchandise that Blizzard will be showing off at the convention.
What should we expect from this year's BlizzCon?
So, no new game, at least not in relation to Reign of Terror.
We first began expecting to see a Diablo announcement due to Blizzard's own schedule for BlizzCon 2018. Nevertheless, we know the legendary dev/publisher has something new in store regarding their hellscape franchise, something besides the Nintendo Switch port. Last month Variety reported that a Diablo TV show would be coming to Netflix - an official reveal would not be out of the norm for this coming BlizzCon.
During an interview with Business Insider, a Blizzard representative said that cross-platform support is "a question of when, not if". He is a huge fan of Blizzard games, and has been playing them extensively since the release of the original StarCraft.
Sony is taking baby steps with cross-platform play, and Blizzard is working with the company to enable it for Diablo 3: Eternal Collection.
Diablo III: Eternal Collection will come to the Nintendo Switch on November 2, 2018. That raised suspicions that "Reign of Terror" could be the subtitle of a new game or expansion, especially given that Diablo hasn't had either since Reaper of Souls in 2014.
