The Explorer's license plate, I60WER, might have been out of Wisconsin. They are asking anyone with information to call 911. Investigators also said that the teenager may have been abducted from the home at gunpoint. The caller contacted police directly and Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald told the network police don't know who made the call.
'Operators heard noises in background, but no one was specifically talking to dispatchers.
He says the call lasted less than a minute and the only word that can be understood is "help".
Fitzgerald said he wants to bring Jayme home safely.
Fitzgerald spoke with WCOW News 18 at approximately 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, in a video posted to the TV news station's Facebook page.
"Those two shots were so loud", Tom Smrekar said Tuesday.
She said she was personally watching the video. "We have to find her". "We're working with the Barron School District on this case", said Fitzgerald.
The FBI is now involved in the case as well. Neighbors say the incident is alarming. Cause of death could be released as early as Tuesday pending the completion of those autopsies.
An Amber Alert was also issued for Closs on Monday, but with no information on any persons or vehicles of interest.
She's described as being 5 feet tall and 100 pounds.
Authorities have been searching for 13-year-old Jayme Closs since a 911 call was placed to sheriff's dispatchers at around 1 a.m. Monday.
BARRON, Wis. (WEAU)-Two people are found dead in their Barron County home and their 13-year-old daughter is believed to be missing and endangered.
But as the day wore on, news of what happened left her and many others in town shocked.
"There are much more grandiose houses in the country than these", Tom Smrekar said, noting that both houses are relatively close to US 8 and aren't isolated. Investigator are trying to enhance the audio for clues.
The missing teenage daughter of a couple found murdered in their Wisconsin home Monday may have been spotted in South Florida, according to Miami police. Fitzgerald said authorities looked into the tip, but by Tuesday afternoon, they concluded the information was not credible. He said finding Jayme is the department's main focus right now. It is believed she may have been taken.
The FBI and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are assisting in the investigation.
According to Fitzgerald, deputies had never been called to the parent's house before.
Barron County sheriff's officials haven't commented on the report.
There they found the bodies of both parents.
The area surrounding the home has since been searched using drones and thermal cameras, as investigators interview Closs' close friends and family.
