Authorities said he then used a wheelbarrow to load her body into her van, enlisted the help of two friends, and then drove to the River City Church in DeBary, Florida where he allegedly buried her body under a fire pit, according to a police statement.
Sheriff Mike Chitwood described Ramos as one of the "top three sociopaths" he has ever encountered.
Ramos told detectives he had two friends, also juveniles, stage a burglary scene at his house. He also tried to stage his home to make police think his mother was abducted and finally he made a 911 call to set his plan in motion.
Chitwood said Ramos confessed to murdering his mother all over a fight about his bad grades.
"Then got home and made in his words a call to 911 to talk about this terrible incident that did not really occur", Chitwood added.
'He had no sign of remorse. The teen allegedly strangled her again, fatally this time.
The boy's reason? The mother and son had gotten into an argument over a "D" grade he got at school, police said, adding that Ramos got upset after his mother called his father, who was out of town on a business trip.
"He believed he was the smartest person in the room and he continued to tell us his theories of what he believed and why: what happened to his mom and where we should be focusing our attention", Chitwood said.
Authorities said Ramos wasn't emotional in his confession. Sgt. AJ Pagliari. "Very proud of what he did". He is a soulless individual, ' Chitwood said.
Ramos helped cook up the story using his training as a part of Orange City Police Explorers. Detectives said they recovered Cleavenger's body at the church early Saturday morning.
"The deputies and detectives who worked through the night and into the morning gave this case absolutely everything they had, and I hope the family knows that Gail has all of us fighting for justice for her", Chitwood said.
"We would come home and sit in the driveway and talk about our kids having driver's license finally, and all that kind of stuff", Hackett said. All our hearts break for this family, ' he added on Twitter.
