In the northern part of the state, at least five people have been found dead in scorched cars after having tried to flee the disastrous Camp Fire burning about 130 kilometers (80 miles) north of the state capitol.
The Woolsey fire and smaller Hill blaze have destroyed more than 150 homes and prompted evacuation orders for about 250,000 people from Thousand Oaks northwest of Los Angeles to the celebrity enclave of Malibu.

At about 2:30 a.m. Friday, all evacuation orders in the city of Los Angeles were changed from mandatory to voluntary, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire broke out on Thursday north west of Los Angeles and roared south, jumping the USA 101 freeway early on Friday and sweeping into the Santa Monica Mountains.
Authorities said around 105,000 people had been evacuated in southern California. "Our weather conditions out there, and our fuel conditions are absolutely right for fire ... when we ask you to leave, please leave early".
Maj. Gen. David Baldwin says other military personnel are studying satellite imagery to assess the scope of the damage and map the fire. Many homes have propane tanks that were exploding amid the flames.
Richardson estimates another 60,000 people will likely have to evacuate because the fire jumped US 101 early Friday and is pushing toward the coast.

Other were found in or near homes.
The fire had jumped Highway 101 in several places, including Calabasas and Agoura Hills, and was moving southwards toward coastal Malibu, Malibu Search and Rescue said in a post on Twitter.
