And now South Korean tech giant Samsung has announced the launch date of its Galaxy A8s smartphone which will also feature an in-display hole for the selfie sensor. This design is better than the notch design that we have seen this year in nearly all the phones.
Verizon Communications Inc and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd said on Monday they plan to release 5G smartphones in the first half of 2019 in the United States. The Galaxy A8s will launch on December 10 after which it should make its way to other countries, notably the USA, as suggested by these certifications. The fingerprint scanner is also placed on the rear, so there is no in-screen fingerprint scanner. The image shows the front panel of the Huawei Nova 4 and the circular cutout near the upper left corner of the display is clearly visible. This device will be in competition with Huawei Nova 4, that has been confirmed to launch in China on December 17.
Huawei's Nova 4, a smartphone with a "hole punch" display - meaning the display only has a tiny round cutout to accommodate for the selfie camera - is set to be announced on December 17, according to a new teaser. In this, we can see Huawei Nova 4 has a striking resemblance to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10, if we go by its leaked renders, too. An LED flash is expected to be included below those three cameras, and those cameras will protrude on the back a bit. It's able to read specific pressure from a finger press that the document refers to as "force touch", with Samsung noting that the force touch recognition will be confined to the lower part of the display. The phone will have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
What To Expect In The Spec Department? However, it has been confirmed that the device will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Galaxy A8s will be a mid-range smartphone, and if rumors are to be believed, it will be fueled by one of Qualcomm's mid-range chips, the Snapdragon 710. The Nova 3 features a 6.3-inch screen of FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 409 ppi. The punched-out hole will house the front camera.
