Apple plans to continue with LCD model as the device has been in the production pipeline for months, the report said.
As with any rumor, particularly ones this far out, we'd take all of this with a pinch of salt, but it would make sense for Apple to up the number of lenses on its phones, since many rival handsets now have more than two.
Apple will include a high-end model in its line-up that features three cameras on its back.
Apple has a big year ahead of itself. Currently, the iPhone XR is the only model that doesn't have 3D Touch and instead has Haptic Touch, a feature that uses long-display presses and haptic feedback to evoke new actions. Meanwhile, Apple chose to troll competitors by placing user security and privacy-related ads around CES venues, and TV makers including Samsung announced that AirPlay 2 support would be available inside new TVs. They also tend to feature on higher-end Android smartphones, something Apple may be reacting to as sales fall in China and India as consumers prefer their own homegrown, full-featured Android smartphones.
The report is light on other features of the 2019 iPhones.
Last month, Bloomberg reported that the company was-and still is-facing a "fire drill" to boost sales from shareholders, which prompted Apple to aggressively release its discounted iPhone XR model in October, which runs about $300 less its regular model.
