Unlike previous year, the All-Star draft WILL be televised this season although the draft date has not yet been announced.
The second returns on fan voting were released on Thursday and George is in position to start in the All-Star Game for the first time as a Western Conference player and the first time since 2016 when he was with Indiana.
Antetokounmpo is second with 2,670,816 and leads an Eastern Conference starting five that now includes Toronto Raptors forward Kawhi Leonard, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving.
Harden's problem for captaincy is that he's now seventh in fan voting, trailing the likes of Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Paul George, Steph Curry, and Luka Doncic. The voting for fans, players and media opened on December 25 and will end January 21.
Rookie forward Luka Doncic continues to be a massive favorite to make the team as a starter as the second-most voted player in the West, surpassing Stephen Curry with 2,220,077 votes. And if voting were to end today, the two forward would be the captains for this year's draft.
Oklahoma City's Paul George (13) grimaces as he picks up his dribble during an NBA basketball game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Washington Wizards at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019. The NBA Celebrity and Rising Stars game will be Feb. 15, the Slam Dunk contest and 3-point shootout will be Feb. 16 and the NBA All-Star Game will be at 8 p.m. ET on Feb. 17.
