Catalunya Radio have reported that club representative Andre Cury - who played a key role in Barca's signing of Neymar from Santos in 2013 - has met with Neymar and his team as interest around a potential return for a player who left in 2017 gathers pace.
El Mundo says contact was first made during the closing stages of last season, with Neymar Sr admitting to Barcelona bosses that his son "made a mistake signing for PSG" and also acknowledging that the 26-year-old feels "disappointed" and "regrets" swapping the Camp Nou for the Parc des Princes.
The newspaper reports Daniel Levy is desperate to keep hold of the Argentinian, who has led Spurs to Champions League qualification in both of their last two seasons. The La Liga leaders are looking to cash in on to fund a move for Neymar. Once again, they would only pay that if Coutinho is still at the club.
The report said the calls to Barca have been constant and added that a clause in Neymar's contract would allow the Brazil forward to leave PSG for €160 million next summer.
Barca have previously ruled out a return for the Brazilian but the club's director of institutional relations, Guillermo Amor, said in November: "Anything is possible". If he came back, I've always said that years ago and he's now one of the best players in the world.
"He is not happy, he has to fight, but one or the other nearly always plays and Coutinho gives us a lot and will give us a lot".
According to the Mirror, the Red Devils would have to spend the same £142m amount as Barcelona spent to bring him back to the Premier League.
