The governor delivered the attack during a speech on economic development on Long Island in response to a Washington Post story that the company is considering abandoning ny because of stiff opposition from local politicians, including state Sen.
Speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not at liberty to discuss the plans publicly, the people said Amazon executives have had discussions inside the company to reassess the situation in NY and explore other locales.
In November, Amazon announced it would split its vaunted second headquarters between Queens, New York and the Northern Virginia suburb bordering Washington D.C. The company is eligible for up to $3 billion in incentives in New York, one of the key concerns of those opposed to the deal.
A spokesperson for Miami WorldCenter, which had been considered as a potential landing spot for a hypothetical Miami HQ2, said Amazon has not gotten back in touch about any new projects. Amazon ended the frenzy by dividing the spoils between the two most powerful U.S. East Coast cities and offering a consolation prize of a 5,000-person center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Reacting to the Washington Post report, Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Friday accused the state Senate of "governmental malpractice".
It noted that it's working with its "new neighbors" in Queens, including small business owners, educators and community leaders. "You're not there to play politics, you're there to do what's right for the people of the State of NY and what they did here is wrong".
No one city will be home to Amazon's second North American headquarters. Meanwhile, city council members last week pressed executives on their plans and criticized Amazon for being an anti-union company (New York is largely a pro-labor city).

Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez says he hasn't heard from Amazon since the e-commerce giant broke the news to him and other South Florida officials that the region came up short in its bid to land HQ2.
News that Amazon is considering backing out of its plan to build a new headquarters site in Queens comes just days after Democratic state Sen.
It can also apply for other tax incentives, such as New York City's Relocation and Employment Assistance Program that offers tax breaks potentially worth $900 million over 12 years.
Though the NYC mayor has advocated for the project since its inception, de Blasio may be feeling the heat from his constituents.
"The mayor fully expects Amazon to deliver on its promise to New Yorkers", said his spokesman Eric Phillips in a statement.
Stuart Appelbaum, President of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, said if the Amazon deal falls apart they will have nobody to blame but themselves.
"I think it's really encouraging to show that government and all of us primarily have a responsibility to the communities that we directly impact", Ocasio-Cortez told CNN on Friday.
Van Bramer opposes the deal while admitting the projected 25,000 jobs are important.
