"Despite the circumstances, this is an incredible experience" for the millionaire entertainer, Cosby publicist and crisis manager Andrew V. Wyatt told NBC 10 Philadelphia in a two-part interview that aired this week.
"Despite the circumstances, he said, 'This is an fantastic experience, '" Wyatt said in his two-part interview.
"What's amusing about that - Mrs. Cosby has been trying to stop him from drinking coffee for 55 years and he said it took this to stop him from drinking coffee", Wyatt described.
He said Cosby's wife, Camille, has not visited her husband at the maximum-security SCI Phoenix facility outside Philadelphia - by Cosby's choice.
She was just one of as many as 60 women who alleged that Cosby had drugged and violated them over the course of 50 years. "When I visit him, it's nothing sad about it", he said.
Perhaps that attitude stems from Cosby's belief that he is a political prisoner.
Wyatt and Cosby's attorneys have been visiting the comedian in prison.
When asked how Cosby was surviving behind bars, Wyatt explained that Cosby was a mentally strong man.
Readers will undoubtedly recall that Cosby received a three- to ten-year prison sentence in late September 2018. "The truth is strong". Since he began serving his sentence, Wyatt explained, Bill has actually managed to lose weight as a effect of not drinking coffee or consuming bread.
Cosby is now behind bars at Pennsylvania prison, after being found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand, in 2004.
Since the prison doors closed on Cosby, the public hasn't heard much about the "Cosby Show" creator's time behind bars-until now.
He believes he was later prosecuted by a corrupt district attorney and judge, "not for justice, but for their political aspirations", and launched a campaign to get a state judicial ethics board to investigate the judge who presided over his trials. I waived my 5th amendment rights; I was declared not guilty in 2005 by the Commonwealth - never charged. However, Wyatt recently revealed to WCAU-TV that the married pair speak on the phone three times a day.
