PASADENA, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 01: Iain Glen of the television show "Mrs Wilson" speaks during the PBS segment of the 2019 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena on February 01, 2019 in Pasadena, California.
USA entertainment trade website Deadline, which first reported the story, says Glen will play an older version of Wayne in Titans. It is expected to premiere on the DC Universe Streaming Service later this year.
Aside from his desire to help Dick and the Titans achieve success, Glen's Bruce Wayne is also hoping to build a legacy so that Gotham will always have someone working to defending the city and keeping it safe.
Titans returns to DC Universe with Batman in tow this fall. He has several decades of stage and screen experience under his belt, including appearing as Jorah Mormont on HBO's Game of Thrones. Given the clear hostility Robin still feels for his mentor, seeing the way the two attempt to reconcile - if they even can - is sure to play a significant role in the second season's plot. In fact, Batman's face was kept mainly hidden from the camera because unbeknownst to Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) the story fans were seeing was taking place in a nefarious vision instead of reality. Included on the team of misfit avengers is the vindictive and cunning alien princess Starfire (Anna Diop), the mysterious empath Raven (Teagan Croft), and the shape-shifting Beast Boy (Ryan Potter). It appears Glen's Wayne will be after his days fighting crime as the Caped Crusader. The news arrives just a week after Curran Walters, who portrayed fellow Bat-family member Jason Todd in season 1, was promoted to a series regular role for season 2.
